Cathedral Gardens Launch Festive Fair Ground
Two fairground rides - a mini-merry-go-round for children and a swing carousel for grown-ups - can be found at the Cathedral Gardens Christmas Market site.
The Cathedral Gardens market site sits next to the iconic National Football Museum and close to Manchester Cathedral.
Traders at Cathedral Gardens are offering a range of special festive gift ideas, including British-made clothes and accessories, marshmallows, designer jewellery, statues and ornaments - plus all the delicious food and drink traditionally associatied with the markets, like gluhwein and bratwurst.
And the impressive 16m high Windmill bar, which was previously sited at Exchange Square, can now be found at Cathedral Gardens too.
Cllr Pat Karney, Manchester's Christmas spokesperson, said: “Now we're finally into December, the festive atmosphere has really taken hold in Manchester. The new Christmas Markets site at Cathedral Gardens is proving a popular attraction for visitors - and the addition of fairground rides is just one more reason to bring the whole family down to share in the magic.”
