Chess and DJ Night

A chess social in Manchester under the Portico Library’s Georgian dome, accompanied by a bebop jazz DJ set and an optional chess-piece design workshop.

Chess and DJ Night takes place at The Portico Library in Manchester, combining casual chess games with a DJ set of bebop jazz music by Jasper Cheng. An optional Design Your Own Chess Piece workshop is available, with all materials provided.

• Attendees are invited to bring their own chess sets. The venue provides two sets on a first-come, first-served basis, plus tables and chairs.
• Refreshments are available to purchase.
• For an additional fee of £22, a bespoke chess piece design can be 3D printed (arranged and paid for on the day); prints are approximately 7–8 cm tall.
