Where to Watch the Ashes in Manchester

We know there are plenty of pubs, bars and venues around the city that show sport but it is always tough to find places that show the cricket. So we have put together a list of where to watch The Ashes in Manchester.

The Waldorf

The traditional pub situated a stones throw from Piccadilly Station always has the sporting action on multiple screens and The Ashes is no different! With a range of bar snacks and food deals including a cracking burger and chips you can either nip away from work for a lunch break and catch the action or grab a pint after work to take in the drama.

There are a range of beers on tap from Camden Pale Ale to Northern Casks and your classic ciders, lagers as well as Guinness. A wide range of spirits are also on offer and some great value bottles of wine.

Shooters Bar

Your classic sports bar with some huge screens to catch every wicket and cheer on the team. The menu is packed full of items that are ideal finger food to share with your mates as the runs tick over, from some saucy ribs to chicken wings and the fan favourites of garlic bread and pizzas.

The drinks on offer are a range of craft beers and ciders, classic lager, numerous spirits and pretty much all the usual drinks you can expect from a sports bar.

Directors’ Box

The aptly named Directors’ Box is another sports bar but this time situated on Booths Street over towards King Street and the venue is dominated by one huge screen along with others dotted around. Delve into the Ashes action as England look to regain the urn. With a menu of comfort food and snacks to keep you going it’s a great place to sit yourself for the days play.

From your Citras to your Pravha and all that is inbetween, your beer needs will be sorted at the Directors’ Box and if you’re a gin or wine fan then there is also a full selection on offer.

Old Trafford

Well how could we not put Old Trafford in here as the fourth test is hosted in our great city! With tickets sold out it promises to be a cracking atmosphere around the ground and city. Tickets sometimes can pop up for the day but make sure they are from a trusted source! With the series usually still very much alive at game four in England, this could be a cracking test match and the home of Lancashire.

Second City

Our only entry from Ancoats, Second City is the sports bar re-invented with their own unique take on how to showcase all of the action. With an American style menu full of some real hearty dishes you can expect a good feed as you watch Joe Root lead his men out throughout the test series. Monday to Friday there is also a cracking lunch deal to keep an eye out for.

Second City have some cracking cocktails that will get you going and their names are just as good! If cocktails aren’t your thing then don’t worry there are plenty more options across the menu that are more like your typical sports bar.
