Review: Grill On New York Street - Bottomless Brunch

Stunning food, excellent service and plenty of prosecco. The best way to sum up our recent visit to the Grill on New York Street to try out their new Bottomless Brunch.

The new offering from this hidden gem of a restaurant situated just off Piccadilly Gardens is not to be missed.  The restaurant itself feels intimate and welcoming, elegantly set out to give you the best possible experience, along with attentive staff who go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your time with them.

Whilst contemplating over the menu our waitress brought over the first round of prosecco and talked us through the different steak cuts available, showing the incredible knowledge the staff have of their food.  Although famous for the steak, Grill on New York Street has so much more to offer, if you're feeling something lighter, there are delightful fish options and a range of favourites not to be overlooked.

We chose a variety of dishes from the menu to get a feel for everything on offer (and maybe because we saw so many items on the menu we wanted to try).  Eagerly awaiting the food, our waitress brought over another round of prosecco, without us even needing to ask.  This is something that continued to happen throughout the afternoon and is really important when heading out for bottomless brunch, you want to feel like you're getting your money's worth.

Our food was then served in very good time, of course along with another glass of prosecco!  Across the table we had a stunning array of food, the colours and smells can't be put into words it was that good.  First up was the slow roasted belly pork, served on a bed of savoy cabbage with gravy and topped with crisp salty crackling.  The pork was juicy and just pulled apart with a fork, complimented by a gravy full of flavour and cabbage cooked perfectly with a slight bite for a different texture.

With the restaurant famous for their steaks, we just had to try them and went for two different cuts, ribeye and sirloin, cooked rare and medium rare.  Both came out exactly how we had asked, the knife slicing through the meat with ease and accompanied by rich and tasty sauces, a béarnaise and a blue cheese.  Just because we didn't have enough food already, we ordered sides of fresh summer greens and creamed spinach, the ingredients doing all of the talking as they added another element to the meal.

The steak was the showpiece, all cuts are minimum 28 day wet & dry aged and are left to breathe for at least 24 hours before cooking to improve quality and it's easy to see why.  We can't talk about the meal and overlook the chips though, the portions big, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, you couldn't ask for any better.

The final dish we selected from the menu was a halloumi and vegetable kebab.  This proved there really is something for everyone on the menu; courgettes, peppers, mushrooms along with pilaf rice, tortilla, sour cream and Cholula hot sauce.  It was just as filling as it sounded!  All fresh produce, cooked excellently and packing a punch for our tastebuds.

We couldn't recommend the Grill on New York Street any higher, the food, atmosphere and service was all of the highest quality.  When you're thinking about where to head next for a meal out, think of the Grill on New York Street for their incredible bottomless brunch available on Saturdays!
