We all know our Summer isn't always the longest but when it's hot we like to make the most of it. That's why we have put together 9 Summer days out in Manchester so you can have some unique days out.

1. Go Wakeboarding 

What better way to use the Summer sun than to try out some wakeboarding down at the Helly Hansen Watersports Centre down at Salford Quays. If you have tried it before or are a complete beginner, it really doesn’t matter, you can throw yourself into the fun and quickly be hitting the water. Getting confident? The get some air over the jumps and impress all your mates. It’s certainly worth a day out this Summer.

2. Quad Biking & Archery 

Get stuck in with some off-road quad biking as you hit the dirt or maybe you fancy yourself as a bit of a Robin Hood with the bow. Adventure Now have plenty of activities that make for a cracking day out, there’s something for both the thrill seekers and those with more finesse to take advantage of those warm days.

3. Visit Marple 

This beautiful town just South of Stockport has plenty to offer, on a Summers day you can walk down the canals and take in the view from the stunning aqueduct. Once you have been for a stroll you may have worked up and appetite or a thirst and there is an astonishing array of high-quality places to eat and drink. From Chaat Cart and Angkor Soul to Libby’s and Sushi Haus, just to name a few. Then onto the drinks you’ve got Beer Traders, Foragin, the Norfolk Arms and Marple Sports Club. It really is worth a full day trip out.

4. Hit the Driving Range 

One of the countries favourite past times, either a round of golf or a trip to a driving range. Not many sports are better in the glorious sunshine, so why not take advantage of the weather and head over to Trafford Golf Centre where you can either work on your game at the range or try drop that handicap over 18 holes. If it’s a family day out instead then why not try out some crazy gold at the Dino Falls course at the same venue.

5. Stockport Foodie Friday 

If street food is your thing then you won’t want to miss Foodie Friday in Stockport. On the last Friday in every month Foodie Friday takes over the markets with a whole host of independent street food vendors cooking up a storm for you to enjoy. There’s everything from burgers to wood fired pizza and even some beautiful Asian cuisine.

6. A Day at the Cricket 

The quintessentially English sport is always a belting day out, no matter whether it is England playing or Lancashire, Emirates Old Trafford has a buzzing atmosphere. With highlights such as The Ashes and the roses came to come this Summer, find yourself a day to get down to the cricket, sip on a few pints and enjoy the excitement.

7. Head for Cocktails 

When the sun is out every flocks to the best sun traps in the city for a drink or two, with perfect serve cocktails often the drink of choice. So why not head to one of Manchester’s hidden gems, Pendulum Hotel have a beautiful courtyard garden space where you can soak up the sun and enjoy some of the classics in one of the few unknown outdoor spaces in Manchester. If you get a bit peckish there’s also a pizza oven outside!

8. Battle It Out at Paintballing 

Take to the woodland battleground with Go Ballistic paintballing as you fight it out with your friends in a paintball frenzy. Think you’re the top shot? Then why don’t you prove it. With swamps, forts, trenches, pillboxes and so much more to utilise, it is a spectacular arena to see who comes out on top!

9. Check Out A Beer Garden 

Who wants to be drinking inside when it’s a scorcher, we always have to make the most of the little bit of sun we get. With limited spots on offer we make our choice by the beer available. Heading down to Ancoats is our usual go to, with a lovely square full of independents our pick is Seven Bro7hers Beerhouse for a few of their beers. Brewed just a few miles away in Salford the craft beer selection is incredible, get yourselves down there to try out the offering.
